About Umi Group
We're a small, deliberately focused company building AI-assisted content platforms and websites — for educators, for small businesses, and for our own network of content sites.
What we do
Umi Group designs, builds, and operates modern content sites on a platform we've developed ourselves. The same platform powers a network of fourteen live sites in health, education, lifestyle, and technology niches — and the same platform is available to clients who want their own.
Our focus is narrow by design. We don't do enterprise software, mobile apps, or design-only work. We build content platforms and small-business websites, and we do both well because we've chosen not to spread ourselves thin.
What we believe
- Performance is not optional. A site that's slow, inaccessible, or fails mobile testing is a site that fails its audience. Every project we ship meets Google's own quality standards as a baseline.
- AI is a tool, not a business model. We use AI extensively in content production — and we're upfront about it. We don't hide the role AI plays, and we don't inflate pricing to cover hours AI makes unnecessary.
- Content needs editorial direction. AI writes drafts; humans decide what gets published. The sites we run and build all operate on this principle.
- Small is an advantage. Clients work directly with the person building their site. No account managers, no junior handoffs, no scope chain-of-command.
Who's behind Umi Group
Umi Group is founded and operated by Mr. H., a long-time technology practitioner with a passion for building things — particularly for using AI in coding, web development, and content production. The platform that powers our client work and our own content network was designed and written by the founder directly.
This is not a disguised agency with a large hidden team. It's a small, independent operation, and we think that's a feature — it lets us stay focused, responsive, and honest about what we can and can't deliver.
Why "Umi Group"
The name is intentionally modest. We didn't want a name that promised to disrupt, revolutionize, or transform anything. We wanted a name that would still feel right ten years in — something that says "a group of people doing focused work" without marketing inflation. That's what we're trying to be.
